About 2 weekends ago we decided to take a road trip to Gainesville. It was a GREAT trip. All of us has so much fun and Parker was able to experience new things. It was an all around good day.
Our first stop was Lake Lochloosa. We stopped to see if we could find some gators for Parker to look at. We didn't find any gators but did find some small bugs, flowers and great scenery!

A neat flower in the lake..
Our next stop was Tony's Taxidermy. I laughed when Dave said he wanted to stop here but it was actually very neat and Parker had a blast!

"whoah, Mama! What is that!?"

Dave and Parker being silly with some "treasures" they found!

Then we drove by THIS place in Orange City. It was supposed to be some kind of outdoor antique trade center but it was really acres of JUNK! Dave and I saw it when we drove by and both agreed we HAD to stop and check it out!

A pretty neat old Tractor that Parker thought was pretty cool.

A headless dinosaur? More JUNK!!

Antique "Open" sign... pretty neat

Our next stop was Micanopy, FL.... this was by far my favorite part of the day and can not wait to go back! Micanopy is the oldest inland town in Florida. Its is so quaint and filled with old antique shops and great old buildings.
For example, the Herlong Mansion!

There was a wedding going on as we walked by!

A cute old church!

The stairwell in one of the stores. Love this saying... "Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and look up at the stars"

My sweet boy.

The next stop was Paynes Prairie. Did you know there was a prairie in Florida!? I didn't!
A snake!!

Then, we finally made it Gainesville. Of course we headed straight for the University of Florida Campus. Our first stop was Lake Alice. And we found those gators we were looking for!

Then, heaven on earth.... THE SWAMP!
The gator chomp!!!!
